Ultimate Frisbee, or Ultimate for short, is one of the fastest growing sports. It is a mixed-gender, fast-paced, non-contact team sport played with a flying disc.

You can’t run while holding the disc, so you move it by passing between teammates. Teams score by passing the disc into the opponent’s end zone. If a pass is dropped, intercepted, or goes out of bounds, possession switches to the other team.

No! Ultimate is self-officiated and built around Spirit of the Game: players are responsible for fair play, communication, and respect.

As much as you like! Ultimate is played competitively around the world, with competitions, tournaments, and international championships.

Not at all! You can learn the basics quickly, and we’ll teach you how to throw, move, defend, and play as a team.

You need both an Ultimaas membership and a UM Sports membership.

1. Ultimaas membership • €25 per semester
   Print and fill in the membership form, then hand it to the treasurer or any of the other board members.

2. UM Sports membership • Cost depends on your plan
   Sign into MyUSC online and purchase or renew your UM Sports membership. Then go to My Account 〉Associations, and add Ultimaas.

The only requirement is that the duration of your UM Sports membership is either a Semester or Year membership. Unfortunately, members with a Monthly UM Sports membership are not eligible to join the association.”

For example, the subsidy contributes to costs such as qualified trainers, coaching, and sports facilities/accommodation. Funding comes partly from the UM Sports memberships that students purchase and partly from subsidies provided by Maastricht University.”

No. You can join Ultimaas, come to practices, and be part of the association without playing competitions. Joining the competition team is optional.
